Diabetes and Weight Loss – Beat Your Hunger Pangs With Oatmeal

The primary challenge in dieting is dealing with hunger pangs. Let us imagine they do not exist – that you only eat when you make time for it, and not because your appetite is reminding you to. If this were a reality, do you think you would ever struggle with dieting?

Let us say you are trying to stick to eating only 1700 calories per day to keep you on track to lose an average of one pound a week. If hunger pangs did not exist, it would be easy. You could have one or two large meals with different foods you enjoy, and that would be it.

Unfortunately, your appetite will always be there. It will frequently nag, mainly when you are looking to lose weight. But that does not mean it is unbeatable. Eat foods that suppress your appetite. This is where oatmeal comes in. The best way to beat hunger pangs are to eat foods to fill you, so you do not feel a craving to eat for at least a few hours. Ideally, what you eat will also be healthy. What is the point in eating a significant amount of bacon because it fills you if it is also going to be highly caloric and provide an excessive intake of fat?

it does not contain any processed sugar; the regular kind with no added sugars or flavors.
it provides some protein and fiber.
All of this combines to give it a strong satiety effect.
Is oatmeal a staple in your diet? If not, you should consider making this change. Eat oatmeal so you do not feel like eating again for several hours. Oatmeal is a great morning meal because it will prevent you from snacking before lunch, or help you hold off until the late afternoon…

take a half-cup of oatmeal; although whole oats are better.
add enough milk or water until the oats are sufficiently soaked, but not so much you cannot see the top layer.
personal tip: add a teaspoon of peanut butter on top, a light coating of honey, and a dash of cinnamon. Put it in the microwave for a minute or two.
the oats should absorb much of the milk/water, and rise. Once they are soft in consistency, they are ready.
Mix and enjoy. After you finish, have a glass of water, to help with digestion. Not long after, you will find you will not feel like eating again for some time.
Tame your appetite. The takeaway point is to tame your appetite. Oatmeal is a healthy option that helps you do this, but there are other alternatives. Fruits and vegetables instantly come to mind, as do whole-grain pasta and lean meats. Eat the foods that satisfy you and help you eat less.
